It is crucial to start the day with a healthy and nutritious breakfast; it will impact on your daily performance, both in your studies and professional life, and will make you feel active and, above all, in a good mood.
Why is breakfast so important then?
After a night’s sleep, the body needs to replace energy levels, nutrients and water, which were reduced during the night. During our sleep, our energy levels lower down and are only used to maintain the body’s basic functions; it is thus very important to not forget to have this meal to replace energy lost and improve cognitive performance and concentration. This will stop you feeling weak at the end of the morning and will reduce your appetite at lunch, thus contributing to a healthier and more balanced food and calorie distribution. It also reduces binge eating. On the long term, breakfast in an excellent way to avoid excess weight.

This meal must include foods such as fresh fruit, low sugar cereals and vegetable drinks such as soya or oat milk.
